Located in Wales, Brecon
We fell in love with this unique location.
On one side of the house all the windows and terraces overlook the River Usk and Christchurch College with the Beacons in the background, whilst on the other side we are literally 100 metres from the town centre, shops, Pubs, restaurants etc.
Brecon is a thriving Town partly due to the extremely successfull annual Jazz Festivals which have been running for some time. It is small enough to be very friendly to visitors and big enough to have good shops and good entertainment. Just a stones throw from walks in the Brecon Beacons and with river / canal side walks on your doorstep, everything you need in one place. But even better the River Usk, which is famous for its trout and salmon fishing, is right on your doorstep! Just walk out the back door and wade in. The season runs from March 30 to September 30 and a local trout licence is just £40 for the whole season or £15 day, £25for 3 days (buy at the local tackle shop in Brecon, details will be supplied). Of course you will need your normal coarse rod licence as well, £26 for the year, any post office. Only fly fishing is allowed along the river in Brecon but just 1 mile outside Brecon is the well known 'Airflow' factory with retail outlet where you can get all the fishing tackle you need. Local tackle shop (400 yds walk from the cottage) also has a decent range of equipment.
If you prefer coarse fishing then the Brecon canal or one of the nearby lakes could be an option.
The cottage accommodation is arranged on 4 floors with the kitchen / dining area on the ground floor with door to small terrace overlooking the garden and river. A few steps down take you to a new decking area ideal for drinks and meals overlooking the river.
Behind the kitchen there is a small shower room with electric shower and toilet, then stairs to the front entrance hall. The lounge area is on this floor, also overlooking the river. On the first floor a double bedroom on the river side and bathroom on the town side with a newly fitted luxury shower cubicle. On the second floor there is a second double bedroom on the river side and a small double bedroom on the town side.
This cottage is not suitable for very young children or anyone with mobility problems.
Full central heating, hot water on demand. New high quality beds and mattresses and mostly new furniture elswhere. No Smoking, no pets without prior arrangement.
3 double beds (no singles) so suggest ideal for 3 fisherman or small family.
Sleeps up to 6, No Pool
