Local Activities

Golf.	Golfers are spoilt for choice in this area with many fine courses within easy reach. Palmares, Penina, Parque da Floresta and Quinta da Boa Vista being closest.
Horse-riding.	Nearby Tiffany,s Riding Centre have a fine choice of horses for all ages and abilities.
Raquet sports	Tennis and squash at the Burgau Sports Centre. Everybody is welcome and they regularly organise competitions to which all can enter. Parque da Floresta have a fabulous tennis facility as does the Luz Bay Club at Praia da Luz.
Water sports	Praia da Luz is just 5 mins drive away. There is a variety of equipment to be hired on the beach there.

Local Attractions

Zoomarine	Located near Guia, Zoomarine have a 'Dolphiarium' that gives the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. There are many other activities there that make for a great day out.
Water Parks	There are several on the Algarve but in our opinion the nearest, Slide and Splash, is the best. A must for all those who enjoy the water. Less than half an hour from the house near Portimao.
Lagos	This ancient town is steeped in nautical history. Many of the famous Portuguese navigators departed on their travels from here. The Nautical Museum is located on the promenade. Also from the promenade you can take a boat trip to the grottos of Pont da Piedad, surreal rock formations hewn by wind and sea from the sandstone cliffs above. The streets of Lagos are alive at night with open air bars and restaurants.
The Cape	Cape Sao Vincente was known for hundreds of years as the end of the world by the early explorers. Only 15 min drive from the villa it would be a shame not to go in the hope of catching one of the worlds most beautiful sunsets from cliffs 100m high.

Local beaches

Cabanas Velhas	This beautiful beach can be seen from the house and is only a short walk away. At the far end of the beach are the remains of an old Moorish harbour wall that makes for great sea angling.
Xavial and Ingrina	Fabulous, but remote. These beaches are approximately 10km west of the villa. Each one has its own Portuguese beach bar/restaurant.
Martinhal	Close to Sagres this beach is a paradise for wind surfers. A soft sandy shelf, a prevailing 'on shore' breeze and a reach of over 800 meters in a protected bay. Bliss.
Praia da Castelejo	A wild beach on the West Coast accessed through Vila do Bispo and a scenic country drive along a steep narrow road. There is a great beach bar here. Well worth a visit if you like beaches
