Jávea
lies on Spain's Costa Blanca, midway between the two international
airports, Valencia and Alicante. The town has long been favoured by
the British, both as a holiday and a retirement destination. Whilst
it is not a "high rise, high life" resort like Benidorm it does, nevertheless,
offer excellent facilities for sport: golf, tennis, windsurfing, sailing,
go-karting and riding are just some of the activities available locally.
Families with teenagers can assure them that there are several discos
open during the summer months and for those who enjoy exploring the
culinary delights of an area, there are hundreds of restaurants and
bars catering for all tastes and all pockets. The town has three principle
areas: its lovely old village with narrow, winding streets; the port
area with working harbour and fish market, as well as a marina and
the long, sandy Arenal beach backed by small shops, restaurants and
apartments. The majority of villas are to be found nestling in the
relative cool of the hills surrounding the Jávea plain. To make the
best of your holiday, therefore, a car will be essential during your
stay. |
